Short version: roadside.tools is a guide to roadside tool stands, run by Our Landmen LLC. When you tell us about a stand, we use what you send to check it and, if you left a way to reach you, to answer you. We don't sell your information.
Who we are

What we collect
- Stand tips and listing requests. The stand's name, where it is, the city and state, the days it's open, what's on the tables, whether you can test tools there, and your notes. If you run the stand, your OK to be contacted about listing it.
- Notes from tool brands. Your company, the tool you'd send, and your notes.
- Your contact details. Name, email and phone, when you give them. They're optional for a stand tip; we use them to confirm details or to answer you, and not for marketing. If you run a stand and ask to be listed, we may call or email you about it.
- Server logs. Our host records IP address, browser, the pages requested, the referring site and the time, for security, spam control and keeping the site running.
- Fonts. The typefaces are served from this site, so no font provider sees your visit.
Cookies and tracking
The site sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising or tracking scripts. The test bench runs in your browser; its checkmarks are not saved or sent to us. The site carries no affiliate links.
How we use it
- To check a stand before it's listed and to ask the owner's OK.
- To answer you, if you left a way to reach you.
- To talk with a brand about sending a tool.
- To keep the site secure and keep the records the law requires.
What goes on the site
Nothing you send is published by itself. We don't publish the name or contact details of the person who sent a tip. Tips describe places and businesses, so please leave a seller's personal details out of the notes.
Who else handles it
Google Firebase hosts the site and Google Cloud Firestore stores what you send through the form, in the United States. New submissions are also copied by email to the people at Our Landmen LLC who handle them. Email to hello@roadside.tools passes through our domain's mail forwarding.
How long we keep it
We keep what you send for as long as we need it to check the stand and answer you, and for as long as the law requires. You can ask us to delete it sooner at hello@roadside.tools.
We don't sell it
We do not sell, rent or trade the details you send to marketing brokers, data aggregators or advertisers.
Your rights
Residents of Texas, California and other states with consumer privacy laws can ask us to access, correct or delete their personal data, or opt out, by writing to hello@roadside.tools.
